My name is Capt. Walter “Wally” Shaw and I am the captain of the Sport fishing boat “REEL WORK”. I am a native Floridian, born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, and have been sport fishing for as long as I can remember. My dad had a boat when I was a kid and he took me fishing whenever he could. If I wasn’t fishing with my dad, I would fish in the canals and lakes around the neighborhood.

As my friends and I got older, we started fishing on the local piers and the bridges in the Keys. After a few years we would occasionally go out on the drift fishing boats, in between our other fishing excursions. That was when I really started to get into fishing on the boats. A couple of years later I was offered a part time job on one of the drift boats. I took the job because not only would I get paid to fish, but I could fish for free whenever I wanted to, which was between five and eight trips a week.

After six or so years I started getting offers to work on the charter boats and began fishing as a full time job. I worked my way through the ranks, learning from some of the best captains in Fort Lauderdale, from part to full time mate, then from part to full time captain. Now I have my own boat, and still enjoy the time that I spend on the water.  So come join me today on an exciting Florida fishing charter and lets see what we get!
